Who You Say I Am

If someone asked you, "Who are you?" what would you say? Are you your favorite sport, tv show, song? What identifies you? Who do you think you are? Tough questions. The answer is quite simple, I am who You say I am. (You as in God) It doesn't matter what your friends, neighbors, teammates, and even your family think of you. It's God's opinion that really matters. Instead of trying to please the world, please Him. I mean, He is the one who created you! Pleasing the world means not pleasing God. Pleasing God is not pleasing the world. Sure, you might get popular by being in the world but it always fades away. Look at many of the celebs...one day they get a a Grammy Award and ride the wave of popularity and the next day they are forgotten. But in the Lord's eyes, we are His most prized possession. If fame is what you want, the Lord thinks you are already famous. He created you and no two people are exactly the same! There is only one "you" and He says, "you are loved; you are important; you are beautiful; you are one of a kind!" A song that I listen to a lot is "I Am Who You Say I Am" by Hillsongs. (https://youtu.be/lKw6uqtGFfoMy) My favorite line is, "I am chosen, not forsaken." If I'm having a bad day, or I've been hurt by something that someone said about me, I just stop and think about those words. I am chosen by God and even if everyone forsakes me, He never will. I am who HE says I am!
"I am His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus..." Ephesians 2:10
