Let Your Light Shine

Whenever the electricity goes out, we either light candles or use flashlights. No matter how small that light is, it automatically changes darkness to light. That light we resort to when in darkness, is inside of us. Most of us have learned the song This Little Light of Mine in Sunday school when growing up. Believe it or not, this song can be applied to our every day lives. The Lord has put His light inside of us and all we have to do is let it shine! Be a light to that rude waiter who messed up your order three times. Be a light to that person at school or work who always has an attitude. Instead of giving that person a dose of their own medicine, why not make their day a little bit brighter by throwing out a compliment or by saying, "The Lord loves you." I know it can be uncomfortable to tell some stranger, "You look nice", or "Jesus loves you", but once you find the courage to say it, it's the best feeling in the world! Instead of letting someone in a bad mood rub you the wrong way, try to change their mood for the better instead of allowing them to change yours for the worst.
For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God's glory displayed in the face of Christ.
