Is your glass dirty?

Don't judge a blog post by it's cover^. This actually has a pretty good point LOL! Let's say you were coming home from working out and were extremely thirsty. (Try Orangetheory it's really fun but super tiring!) You walk in the door and head straight for the kitchen for a nice glass of cold water. Once you open the cupboard and pull out a glass, you look down and see dirt, grime, stains and a bunch of nasty stuff in it. You are definitely NOT going to put your pure, ice cold water into that nasty glass, no matter how thirsty you are! So then, you immediately grab a different glass that is clean, pour in that well-waited-for water and drink up before you drop from dehydration. Now, to interpret this unique illustration; the cup represents us, and the water represents God. We are God's vessels that He pours Himself into. We have to clean our cups from all of the junk of the world (sin) and make sure we come clean before God. How do we do that? We repent of our sin(s) to God and ask Him to wash us clean with His precious blood. Once we clean our cups, God will joyfully pour Himself into us and we can then pour out to others.
"Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work." - 2 Timothy 2:21
